Twin Towers in Irish Hills Michigan

I love roadside attractions! I rember many trips south with my family but the only trips up north I recall are the ones to Michigan tourist stops.

The two main things I remember about the trips up north were the Twin Towers we looked for as we drove through the Irish Hills and the creatures of the Prehistoric Forest.

I later learned the first wooden observation tower was built in 1920 and the towers likely became famous due to the rivalry that occurred between the owners that built them. The two 64 foot towers were later purchased and a walkway connected them.

In 2015 we drove past the Twin Towers and I took this photo. At that time the towers were closed as they were safety hazards.

The Irish Hills Historical Society were able to  save the U.S. 12 landmark and last I heard there was lack of funding to move forward.
