Garden List

The past couple of years, I've delved deeper into planting perennials and we've put in 5 raised beds for edibles. I keep notes on our plant purchases, past garden successes and failures, and new things I want to give a try.  And winter is when l normally plan out what I want to do in the spring.

This morning, the temperature was a cool 3 degrees, when Mr. S, expressed having cabin fever. I thought this was a great time to mention it had been a while since we'd been thrifting for garden items. And reminded Mr. S  about the time he came home with a looks-like-new $10 composter.

Mr. S was in agreement to thrifting and he brewed us some french vanilla coffee, while I tromped through the snow- taking photographs of the backyard.

I returned inside and sipped coffee, while jotting items down. Minutes later, I grabbed the list on our way out the door.

Garden List

1.  Peony, because I miss the two we use to have.

2  Globe Thistle because our friend has some in her garden and  I see it every day in the summer that I drive by her home and I love the look of it.

3.  Lilies because I can never have enough lilies. (Remind myself about the invasive ditch lilies I'm sure I will need to pull again this year.)

4. A gardening book because I love looking at anything that has porches, urns, pots, birdhouse, etc.

5. A leather-bound journal as I'm rough on the others.

6. Some type of fencing to put around the raised beds as last year bunnies ate some of our lettuces.

.

I ended up with the purchases above which almost completed the list I'd made. And while I could not find any fencing this time, I did manage to take a nice photo of one on our way back home.
