Everyone knows that staying inside during the cold winter months can be quite boring. The grass is soon covered in fluffy white winter snow which becomes our dog's playland.

I glance down at them and all is quiet! They begin their day by looking all cute and innocent. And then Buddy gives me this look. Next thing I know, he and Monroe have jumped off the bed and are standing near the front door - crying to go out.
As I approach, the two jump up and down, looking at me like, "Oh'Goody, she heard us!" I put on their leashes and open the door. They purposefully leap off the porch. Running down the sidewalk, Monroe frantically jumps up on Buddy's back and tries to spring him free by gnawing through his leash. All the while, Buddy is barking hello to the neighborhood dogs and anyone else who'll listen.
Still covered in little white snow crystals, they wander about. And then I catch them doing all sorts of inconceivable things. Such as, trying to use our ' Rose of Sharon' bush to play a game of fetch the stick.
They come up out of the snow and look over at me. And then I hear howls, growls and squeaks as they jump and zing around - almost disappearing with each leap through the snow. After awhile the excitement wears off and they return to the porch. They've had their fun and must go inside until the next snow play day.
