Frogs singing at our pond

We've created a wetland for wildlife and earlier in the spring we heard a frog singing.

When frogs call out they're trying to attract a mate. Once they've mated, the eggs that survive hatch after about 7 to 9 days and become tadpoles. After about 9 weeks, the tadpole looks like a small frog with a long tail. In another few weeks, the tadpole has a tiny tail and looks like a small adult frog. Depending on a variety of factors, within 12-16 weeks a frog completes the full growth cycle.

Above is a photo we captured of one singing on a rock along our garden pond. Below is a photo was taken one evening this week

I was telling my Mom about the growing number of frogs appearing in our pond when she informed me that her friend out west stated she'd counted 250 frogs at their pond before the frogs were released to nearby suitable habitat.
