Christmas Tree and Ornaments

Are you beginning to get your Christmas decorations out and trim the tree?
Christmas decorating is one of my favorite things to do. And I want to share this year’s Christmas tree with you!

The tree is the very first thing I decorate each Christmas season and this year I went with more traditional Christmas colors! Lots of reds, greens and golds.I begin with our base tree which is pre-lit with colored lights. It's boxed when not in use so I pull it out and  fluff the branches and turn each one up slightly.

 The   following items are added

  • Berry picks
  • Sparkle picks
  • Ornaments mostly family gifts
  • Pine cones
  • Ribbons
  • Stars
  • Beading (this years is gold)
  • Poinsettias ( gold)
  • Top piece  ( this year is a bow with sparkly picks)
  • White net draped across middle of tree

In the photo above the tree is partially done. I still have ornaments and beading to add. I had added some dark velvet poinsettias and removed them as I did not feel enough light was getting through. They now sit in a galvanized container in the kitchen.

Do you have a favorite Christmas ornament? I do and this is it...a porcelain angel inside a blue shell. This was a family heirloom which I cherish.

I love this little boy on a sleigh and while he is an ornament I put him on a shelf..instead of hanging him on the tree.

Our dogs like to lay under the Christmas tree in the living room... knocking off bulbs as they do. This year, I have decided to display some of the bulbs on our coffee table.

I love trees and also have some small ones displayed in our home.

But my favorite trees are outside... year round.
