Easy Projects with Pine Cones

I shared Christmas Figurines last week and today I will share some natural elements. On my very first Christmas Crafts show,  I secured pine cones to wreaths and finished them with a coat of clear gloss protective spray. When they were dry, I plopped a large red bow on them. They quickly sold out. To this day, pine cones remain one of my favorite naturals to use during the Christmas season.

To create an easy pine cone project: collect pine cones.

The great thing about them is they come in all shapes and sizes.

Here are a few easy projects to get you started.

Create a pine cone tree: wire pine cones onto 2" wooden floral picks.  Starting at the bottom and working to the top,  insert picks down into the Styrofoam. When you have it the way you want it... keep it natural or spray paint it gold.

hot glue ribbon to bleached pine cones and make natural ornaments for the tree

Spray paint cones white and stick them in an outside urn.

tie different cone shapes onto garland

Hot glue greenery and berries to the cone and hang in the window or sit cone on top of a candle stick.

Wire pine cones onto a wreath and hang on the door.

Display pine cones in all your arrangements!

Leave cone natural..or paint them ..or apply glitter.. or snow.
