Marblehead, Replica of the 1876 U.S. Life Saving Service Station.

Above are photo's I took of the replica of the 1876 U.S. Lifesaving Service Station which was constructed with private funds raised by the Marblehead Lighthouse Historical Society and opened May 31, 2016.

It was thrilling to return to the area and see the progress of the replica during building. It's located in Marblehead State Park near the Marblehead Lighthouse and Marblehead Lighthouse Museum shown below.

I love that the U. S. Life Saving Station Museum houses an authentically restored 1931 Coast Guard SB (Type S )  27 foot -surf boat. Honestly, I'm more familiar with seeing the 47 foot Motor Life Boats and the 23-foot safe boats on the Great Lakes. This Museum is a wonderful addition to the state park and includes great historical details and exhibits.
