Old Woman Creek National Estuarine Research Reserve

Located along the shore of Lake Erie, is Old Woman Creek National Estuarine Research Reserve. This is part of a network of 28 coastal reserves connected through the National Oceanic and Atmospheric Administration (NOAA).

You'll find the Mike DeWine Center for Coastal Wetland Studies is well marked.

The visitor center is educational and the staff is not only knowledgeable but also helpful.

Here, you’ll find many species of native animals and plants.

They have some nice live displays too.

I enjoy watching the wildlife through the observation window. It's perfect view at bird migration seasons.

Once you leave the center, I highly recommend a walk along the trails. There are marshes and swamps, upland forests, and streams. All are quiet and peaceful.
