Netting for the Garden

My brother was over and helped me install some lath on the raised beds so we could lift the netting up.

We secured 6 stips vertically to the sides and 1 strip horizontally along the east and west side of the bed. All are attached with washers and screws.

The back netting is attached  to the strips with staples and the front of the netting is free floating with a few bricks securing it in place at the bottom.

I find that I am daily picking lettuce and radishes from the beds for our salads so the removal of a few bricks was a quick an easy solution.

This extra space gives the cabbages and kale more room to grow, while keeping out the cabbage whites that seem to be fluttering about the garden.
