Earth Day 2022
This should be a fun month with longer and warmer days. Yay! While enjoying the start of spring, we’ll also celebrate The 52nd anniversary of Earth Day this month.
The Earth Day 2022 Theme is Invest In Our Planet. What Will You Do?
Need ideas.
Attract pollinating creatures to your garden. We have used, Bee Balm, Coneflower, Black-Eyed Susan's, and Zinnias with success. I also built a bee hotel in the kitchen garden.
Wildflowers also attract beneficial insects. We use the field guide linked below.

Go organic. Use organic plant fertilizer.

Harvest rainwater from a roof, and gutters with a rain barrel. This is an easy and relatively inexpensive thing to do. We have been harvesting in rain barrels, and also in some small plastic ponds, we have on the property. We then use this water to water the kitchen and flower garden. Learn how here
Recycle, reuse and return plastic pots and trays. There are garden centers that reuse and recycle that may want your donations so check around.
Choose some biodegradable or chemical-free objects.
Go on a walk with a trash bag and help to do some spring cleaning!
