Ohio Fall 2024
We have spent a lot of our fall days taking in the sights in Ohio and Indiana.
The most impressive fall color changes we saw in 2024 were at Myeerah Nature Preserve on October 26, 2024.
I am glad we waited until the end of October to hike again at this 450-acre preserve maintained by the Bellefontaine Joint Recreation District.
The weather was in the 30s when we left home, so we dressed in layers to keep warm.
We were able to see many of the color changes from the boardwalks scattered throughout the preserve.
The reds, yellows, and oranges in the preserve were stunning. The photo at the top is one of my favorite sections of trees in the preserve which is viewable from your vehicle.
Myeerah Orange Outer Loop has the most elevation gain with 298 ft of total ascent. Myeerah Lower Loop, will get you 170 ft of elevation gain.
We hiked here when we were much younger and can tell you that the boardwalks make it easier to climb and descend many of these elevations.
The Myeerah Nature Preserve is operated under the guidelines of a conservation easement held by the Tri-Moraine Audubon Society. It is located at 7405 State Route 540, Bellefontaine, and is open from dusk to dawn.
