Ross Fountain Photo at 70th Annual June Art Show at the Wassenberg Art Center

I attended the 70th Annual June Art Show at the Wassenberg Art Center in Van Wert, Ohio. The exhibit showcases a wide variety of artistic styles, mediums, and themes. Danyelle Yoder received Best of Show at the 70th Annual June Art Show much of her work displays human resilience.

At art shows, I often purchase paintings or ceramics but at this exhibit, I purchased a matted and framed photograph of the Ross Fountain, a stunning cast-iron structure located in West Princes Street Gardens, Edinburgh Scotland.

What makes this photograph particularly special is its intricate design features four female figures representing Science, Art, Industry, and Poetry, with a central figure holding a cornucopia at the top. The base of the fountain is adorned with mermaids, lion heads, and cherubs, all contributing to its ornate appearance. The perspective it offers is really quite beautiful as beyond the fountain, one can see the majestic Edinburgh Castle, perched atop Castle Rock. I love it that the vibrant turquoise, gold, and brown hues of the Ross Fountain create a striking contrast against Edinburgh Castle's moody grey stone.
