Windy Point State Park, Montezuma, OH

When I was a kid, we used to go fishing at Windy Point—it was one of those quiet, special places that stay with you. If you look at a map, it’s just a stone’s throw from Cottonwood Cottage. I have so many memories from those days: early mornings, calm water, and that sense of peaceful stillness.

A few years back, they put in a beach just down the way from where we used to fish. This week, I finally had the chance to go back and see it for myself.

Being there again, standing where I stood as a kid, brought a rush of memories. Things have changed, sure, but it is still peaceful.
