Faurot Park in Allen County, Ohio, spans 89 acres of lush green space and is well known for the lively community events. My favorite time to visit, though, is in the fall, when the trees blaze with color and the ground is scattered with fallen leaves and fruit. The park is graced with many magnificent old trees, including a white oak (Quercus alba) believed to have stood there since 1769. I especially love walking the path along the ravine, where the view opens up over one of the serene lakes—a peaceful reminder of the beauty and history rooted in this special place.
